Our goal is to see all participants earn high school diplomas or the equivalent. For those choosing to continue education we will assist in making that happen, by seeking scholarships, financial aid and any other means to assure success.
For those who choose not to continue their education, we have secured two trades-based apprenticeship opportunities and are actively seeking others. Being financially self-sufficient strengthens the success of participants and prevents them returning to former lifestyles.
Sexual exploitation breeds many issues. One issue at its root is unworthiness. Young people often feel they warranted the abuse, because they somehow deserved it. They believe they aren’t worthy of real love, that message of unworthiness permeates every single area of their entire lives, so they often sabotage themselves feeling they are undeserving of anything good.
Trauma informed LRSA mentors, speak God’s truths of worthiness into their lives. They learn they are worthy! They learn God has a plan for their lives. Knowing that God sees them as worthy changes the way they see themselves and the way they see the world.
LRSA is partnering with First Presbyterian, Redeemer Presbyterian and Community Bible Church. Our goal for 2023 is to expand to ten churches.
Gaining the support from churches allows us to devote our time to true ministry rather than fund raising. In addition to church support, we will have donation campaigns and annual fundraiser and awareness events.
